Happy Birthday to Tyler!

Woo! Tyler is 28 now, so strange!
Tyler recently had his birthday. Unfortunately, I didn't snag any pictures of a bundle of his friends that had gone to the wrong bowling alley by mistake and just ended up playing games over there and THEN stopping by. We went to El Meno's for dinner while waiting to bowl at Bonwood. I guess with the "tough economy" lots of people like bowling @ 3 games + shoes for only $9. It's our favorite bargain. So yeah, El Menos = best taco's I've had besides the ones from Ensenada! It was a bit quite a bit different than, you know, cafe rio, del taco, rubios, or any of the usual places us Utahns go to get mexican food, but it was GREAT! I highly recommend it!

We ate there while we waited for the longest wait ever at the most excellent bowling alley. Later that week we went to a Jazz game, courtesy of my parents.  One perk of being married: getting to reap the benefits of gifted tickets to the husband.
NOOOOOW! Time for some pictures!

Tylers buddy Richard and his wife Marika (I surely spelled that wrong!) I always thought Richard was one of his "mission" friends the way Tyler would talk about him, turns out he's just a friend from childhood. And to the right, of course, our friends the Kunz's!

Tyler with his wife....Tyler with his Tyler

Aface & Jess-E, and the crew from Ty's old singles ward. Ben, Amada, Iris and "Estevan!" Estevan is my greatest competition for Tylers love. O yes, and Alayna is back there too, fitting right in.

I'm amazed we've stayed friends after all these years. Key to our lasting friendship: road trips!

So this picture was up on the wall, and we thought it was the "story of our lives"

Eh Eh? See the resemblence? To the last picture....We tried, but our photographer had no idea was we were trying to accomplish.

Most of the group. Aface, Cole, Tyler, Jessi, Amanda, Ben, Iris, Estevan, Cole's friend (sorry, I don't know his name) me and Tyler.

I got to experience my first Jazz game with Tyler. He didn't have a voice for the rest of the week. My husband is a MAD JAZZ FAN! I told him he could yell and cheer as much as he wanted as long as he didn't get in any fights. We had a row of Maverick fans behind us. The Mavs won :( It was an awesome game though!

Waiting to watch prizes...soooooo close!

And that's all! Life is going gooood. Just trying to survive school & work and keep our house clean at the same time.

Honeymoon in Cabo!

Our Honeymoon was supposed to be a surprise for myself (court) but I'm SOOO SMART that I guessed it about a week before we left. Actually, I'd guessed many places, but Tyler and his inability to tell a lie couldn't lie when I guessed CABO SAN LUCAS! We went on a Mexican Riviera cruise out of LA down to Cabo (we got 2 days in cabo!) and then one day in Ensenada. We went over New Years to not conflict with school and it was wonderful. PLUS New Years Ever on a cruise is WAY more fun than any party I've ever been invited too. (Sorry people!) We had no homework or anything to worry about. We just cruised away and drank way too many mocktails. Here's Some of our photos.
Waiting in the airport...We had to leave at like 6AM. Hence why we look like we just woke up. However, that will be a continuing theme throughout the pictures.
Our first night on the cruise was New Years Eve. Everyone was DOWN TO PARTY! We were SOOO tired waiting for those freaking balloons to fall! We went to bed like 5 minutes after they dropped.
The balloons dropped and we both had our first new years kisses. A year ago our friends encouraged us to kiss on new years but we were both too chicken/weren't really interested.
So there's not a port in Cabo for the big ships so we had to come in on little tenders. Here we are in the corner of our crowded tender.  Super fun, I think Tyler was starting to get sea sick!
Chilin in cabo. My hair looked pretty good at the beginning of this day. By the time our mini tour cruise was over, my hair was in a million knots. Also, these $20 sunglasses (fyi I never spend more than like $5 on sunglasses) dropped and broke right after I burned my mouth on LITERALLY the HOTEST SALSA EVER! Turns out it was restaurant policy to warn about that salsa but our careless waiter forgot. DON'T taste the salsa that looks like Cafe Rio dressing, it'll ruin your meal and mouth for at least 3 hours.
Here we were getting ready to go our on our little tour cruise of cabo, which turned into a whale watching tour that we didn't pay for. As did our pirate cruise, which the pictures are on a disposable camera, which may or may not ever get developed! Also, LOTS OF CRABS!
There's lovers rock for ya! Its hard to get a picture without a million little water taxies driving all the tourists around it. The other side is probably a little more famous.
Walking around cabo, getting hustled.
Lovers Arc rock thing again. Our ship was parked and for 2 days we had the view of the rock the entire time off our amazzzzing balcony. Everywhere we went they had "glass bottomed boats" that would water taxi you around the island. Our water taxi ROCKED because he started throwing stuff into the water and all the fish came as he shouted "look look! mexican nemo!" yeah, he got a pretty sweet tip!
Sting ray jumping in the water...tyler enjoying the boat ride.

I think this "sex machine" boat is a tourist favorite to take pictures of. We preferred the "glass bottomed boats" ourselves.

Some whale sightings on our boat/cruise/tour thing. These pictures don't look that exciting, but we were FREAKING out and soooo pumped to see the water spray out and the tail and everything. I have about 20 more pictures like these.
I was SO excited when I saw Kitty Glitter! Right before Jessi got married we went down to Mesquite and had dinner at the Purple Fez and after she gambled like $.25 and won twenty dollars when I helped her pick the Kitty Glitter machine Read all about that here: on Jessi's blog

Miniature golfing on the ship.  Courtney won.
This was one of my favorite moment! We orded mocktails the first time and Tyler was hesitant to get the "choco-CO banana" one because it had coconut milk in it, so he got the one with mango juice instead. When they came out he was SO bummed when he saw mine.  We shared, and, long story short, he had choco-co bananas every day even at breakfast on the morning we left the ship.

Enjoying mocktails...Tyler with his choco-co banana and me with a pina colada.

In Ensenada. This place was actually my favorite. Not sure why, maybe because I love the sweet leather bag I got or the amazing tacos (seriously, amazing!) Here we are on a bus on our way to El Bufadora? aka The Blowhole!
My second pair of sunglasses, a third pair for the trip. We'd shortly be purchasing tylers second pair since his pair from Cabo also broke. We had bad sunglasses luck!

Kissing at El Bufadora, I didn't really get any good pictures of it exploding. Just a video.

Being tourists, this should be at the beginning, it's right when we got to cabo and I still had my big sunglasses.

Ensenada Sunset
So there you have it. Our belated honeymoon. I've never been on a honeymoon right after I got married, but I totally thought that this was the perfect way to do it. Wedding stress and school stress were totally done and over and we enjoyed every second, except the salsa that tried to kill me. This ended up being a lot more photos than I intended!

Christmas 2011

This is an assortment of pictures from the Rose Family Christmas Party, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. It hasn't even been a month and already I'm confused at which picture is from which day. That'll teach me not to get behind.  I have NO idea how people have time to post more than one blog a week, hats off to them.
Christmas was GREAT! It was so nice to have Christmas morning together and spend time with both families. I didn't end up taking any pictures of our Christmas night with the Evans family. I feel horrible. We loved spending time with both families though. We look forward to many Christmases with both families and our own lil family. It was our first Christmas together and we got way too spoiled.
All the girls on Christmas Whit, Lex, Court, Ash, Kristi, Cassi

Tyler got me a new ipod touch, since I lost mine just before we got married. I guess all my complaining about listening to the radio while commuting to Orem did me some good. :)

I got Tyler a record player, since one of the first times we hung out he showed me his collection of SlackKey records, but had no record player.  This was the first of our gifts to crack open and put to use. Sounds soooo good!

You've seen this tree before, our Christmas light tree. I loved it, it didn't take up any room and it'll be a quick take down.

These flying lanterns were supposed to be used at our wedding, but turns out they are 100% illegal to set off.  We decided not to send them off at the wedding, but now we have a whole bunch, and we decided to let some go on Christmas Eve.

Cassidy setting off her flying lantern.

For the White Elephant gift Tyler got the most hilarious TIME OUT VHS tape about HIV.  Can't wait to go watch it with the Reeves'

Skyping Kenzie. She's on her mission. She's doing great! I can't believe missionaries get to Skype now. So rad.

Life at the Commons

Well people keep wanting to see our lil place at the Art Space Commons.  We live in the sweetest place ever because it's all about the GO GREEN.  I don't think either of us are really that big on going green, (which you wouldn't believe with our little natural gas car), but we definitely appreciate the cheaper bills.
This is what the place looked like as of before Christmas.  These pics were actually taken when we had our hot coco night.
Here is the photographic tour of our lil place we call home, and my new ever evolving project. Lovin life at the commons...
Looking into the kitchen...
The bathroom, and the laundry room...from the bathroom you can look out and see the living room.

The bedroom (thanks grandpafor the bedding!) / Looking at the living room from the kitchen.  Those big doors open up and  the living room and bedroom are really like one big room. As you can see below...

Looking out into the living room from the bedroom.

Our lil kitchen, and pantry.
Our "office" at the bottom of the pantry. That box is full of all the Thank You cards we really need to send out, but the gifts keep coming.

And this is where we sit and watch Netflix and play Hot Shots golf. Our tv is now actually mounted up onto that  metal square. Only took a few trips to Home Depot to get the screw size right! Good times...
